Year two of Sydney Beer Week in 2025 has been nothing short of incredible! Seven days of celebrating Sydney’s best venues, breweries, and beers — joined by visitors from near and far — the energy and excitement were absolutely palpable. From bike rides and beer runs to curated dinners, unique pairings, and even Shakespeare in the pub, the week was bursting with creativity and community spirit. It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces alongside new ones — long-time supporters of the industry sharing pints with first-timers discovering just what makes Sydney’s beer scene so special. What an absolute pleasure it’s been.
Events
Returning for its second year, we had the absolute honour of hosting the 2025 Beer & Brewer Awards, held live at Mountain Culture Redfern. This fantastic event brought together every corner of the industry — from growers and suppliers to brewers, venues, retailers, and passionate individuals — all under one roof to celebrate the people and ideas that make our beer community so vibrant. Despite another challenging year, there was plenty to raise a glass to: innovation, sustainability, creativity, and the venues and people who continue to elevate our industry. The room was buzzing with conversation — fans connecting with brew teams, suppliers meeting venues, and everyone sharing in the same spirit of collaboration and celebration. Many called it one of the best Beer Week events in years. A special highlight was presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award to Richard Watkins of BentSpoke Brewing, whose heartfelt speech brought the room to silence. Moments like these capture exactly what Sydney Beer Week is all about — community, passion, and celebrating the people who make Australian beer so special.

Our goal for Sydney Beer Week’s second year was simple — to bring the beer community together once again. To showcase the resilience, creativity, and innovation that continue to drive this amazing industry forward. It’s been about opening conversations of collaboration, breaking down the barriers that COVID left behind, and reigniting connections that make us stronger together. Seeing so many familiar faces — and new ones — come together, share ideas, and celebrate what makes our industry special has been a true pleasure. We’re incredibly proud to have played a part in reuniting and reaffirming the strength of this community. Sydney Beer Week will be back — but until then, grab a friend, raise a glass, and keep supporting the people and places that make Australia’s beer scene so remarkable. Cheers to another great year!
